Baseball: Four former Vikings making their way in the minorsAugust 08, 2012Four former Long Beach City College Vikings are continuing their baseball dreams and are currently playing professionally in the minor leagues. Jonathan Keener (pictured, right), Lance Breedlove, Steven Gallardo, and Brian Compton are all playing in lower-level minor leagues with the hope of someday making it to “The Show.”

Sophomore starting pitcher Steven Gallardo was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals and former Viking starting pitcher Lance Breedlove was taken by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Baseball: Talented pitching staff to lead Long Beach in 2012February 03, 2012The 2012 Long Beach City College baseball season gets underway on Saturday (Feb 4) as the Vikings travel to Barstow for a 12 pm non-conference game. Head coach Casey Crook returns for his 19th season and looks to the talented pitching duo of Steven Gallardo (left) and Omar Jimenez (right) to lead LBCC this season.
