Football: SCFA announces official 2016 Long Beach schedule

The Southern California Football Association has released the official 2016 team schedules for all 37 programs. Long Beach will host Pasadena City College in both squads’ season opener on Sep. 3 while the Vikings will face Saddleback College in a rematch of last season’s Southern California Championship final the following week on Sep. 10.

Football: Seven Vikings sign letters of intent to continue careers at four-year universities

Seven members of the highly successful 2015 Long Beach City College Football program signed their National Letter of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at four-year universities.

Athletics: Long Beach Century Club to honor four Vikings at annual Sports Night Banquet

Four Long Beach City College student-athletes will be honored on Monday, February 1 at the 60th annual Long Beach Century Club Sports Night Banquet at The Grand. Mike Wilson, Chantel Dunson, Evan May, and Joanna Perone are just four among the dozens of individuals that will be recognized at the City of Long Beach's premiere sports event.

Football: Boesen signs National Letter of Intent to continue career at TCU

Long Beach City College defensive end Mat Boesen has signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Texas Christian University. Today marked the opening day of the mid-year junior college transfer signing period. Boesen will enroll in classes at TCU beginning this January.

An impressive 2015 Long Beach City College football season came to an end following the Vikings' 43-17 loss at Saddleback College in the Southern California Championship game on a cold Saturday night in Mission Viejo.

Football: Vikings sweep top Central League honors, total 16 postseason NCL accolades

The Long Beach City College football team continues its run towards a state championship this Saturday in the Southern California championship game at Saddleback College, but on Monday the Vikings racked up 16 Southern California Football Association National Division All-Central League postseason honors.

Football: Long Beach advances to Southern California Championship with win at Cerritos

Freshman quarterback Jack Lowary's (Mater Dei HS) two-yard touchdown run with 34 seconds left in the fourth quarter capped an impressive 34-30 come-from-behind win for Long Beach City College at rival Cerritos College on Saturday night in the Southern California Bowl. With the victory, LBCC advances to next Saturday's (Nov. 28) Southern California Regional Championship game at Saddleback College.

Football: Vikings seeded third for SoCal Playoffs, play at rival Cerritos in Southern California Bowl

After being shutout of the Southern California playoffs last year, head coach Brett Peabody and his Long Beach City College Vikings will finally get their chance to play for a state championship. LBCC was named the South's No. 3 seed for the regional playoffs and will face rival second-seeded Cerritos College at Falcon Stadium on November 21 in the Southern California Bowl.

Football: Vikings wrap up National Central League championship with 38-36 win over El Camino

Long Beach City College totaled a season-high 622 yards of offense but had to erase a halftime deficit and survive a fourth-quarter El Camino College rally before holding on for a 38-36 SCFA National Central League win on Saturday night at Redondo Union High School.

The Long Beach City College football team bounced back from its loss last week to defeat visiting Citrus College 49-28 in the Vikings final regular-season home game at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday night.

Football: No. 1 Long Beach suffers first loss, falls 34-14 at Riverside

Thoughts of an undefeated season came to a crashing end as the No. 1 nationally and state-ranked Long Beach City College Vikings were dealt their first loss of the season, a 34-14 defeat at Riverside City College on Saturday.

The Long Beach City College Vikings are officially the new No. 1 team in the State of California as well as in Southern California according to polls releases late Monday. The 7-0 Vikings are one of just four unbeaten teams in the state.

Football: Vikings are 7-0 for first time since 1998 thanks to 52-40 win over Chaffey

Sophomore Darren Johnson (Cabrillo HS) rushed for a career-high 268 yards while the Long Beach City College offense totaled a season-best 536 yards as the Vikings rolled to a 52-40 SCFA National Central League win over visiting Chaffey College on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
