Long Beach City College will advance 11 individuals along with four relay teams to Friday’s South Coast Conference Championship Finals after qualifying at the SCC preliminaries on Tuesday at LBCC’s Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Long Beach City College track & field team put together an impressive effort at the nearby Cerritos Invitational on Saturday as the Vikings totaled 14 top-10 finishes and nine season-best marks.

Long Beach City College is just three weeks away from hosting the South Coast Conference Championship meet and on Saturday, the Vikings traveled to San Diego Mesa College to compete at the Arnie Robinson Invitational. It proved to be a successful event for LBCC as the Vikings totaled 13 top-10 finishes.

The 2016 spring season continued for the Long Beach City College track and field team over the weekend at the Occidental College Distance Carnival Spring Break Classic. LBCC had 28 individual entries at the meet and earned a total of six top-20 finishes.

Facing tough competition from NCAA Division I, NCAA II, NAIA, as well as some of the top community colleges in Southern California, the Long Beach City College track & field team totaled seven top-10 finishes at Saturday’s Cal State LA Invitational.
