Ed Crosby (Baseball, 1968 & 1969): Crosby was the starting shortstop for LBCC baseball teams that won back-to-back state championships in 1968 and 1969. As a sophomore, he was named first-team All-Metropolitan Conference, as well as all-state and All-American. Crosby was drafted three times and finally signed as a second-round pick of the St. Louis Cardinals in 1969. Just one year later, he made his Major League debut against the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 12, 1970. Crosby played in the majors for six seasons with the Cardinals (1970-73), Cincinnati Reds (1973), and Cleveland Indians (1974-76). Following his playing career, Crosby worked as a professional baseball scout.
