Laura Fetzner-Castro (Volleyball/Basketball, 1980-82): Fetzner-Castro was a standout for the Vikings during her two years on the basketball and volleyball courts. In basketball, she helped lead LBCC to back-to-back conference championships on her way to setting career records in total points (849) and points per game (16.3). Fetzner-Castro earned first-team all-conference honors as a freshman and was named conference player of the year her sophomore season in 1982 after averaging 19.5 points and 13.2 rebounds per game. In volleyball, she was named team MVP and captured first-team all-conference honors as a sophomore. Following LBCC, Fetzner-Castro closed out her collegiate career as a two-year member (1983-84) of the Long Beach State basketball team.
