Bob Humphreys (Track and Field, 1954 & 1955): Humphreys twice set the LBCC shot put record with marks of 48-9 ¾ (1954) and 49-3 ¾ (1955). As a sophomore, he won conference championships in the shot put and discus. He also placed second at the state championships in the shot put and fourth in the discus in 1955. Following LBCC, Humphreys went to Wichita State University and set school records in the discus and shot put. He also captured a Missouri Valley Conference championship in the shot put (1956). In 1960, he finished fifth at the U.S. Olympic Trials in the discus. He also set the Pan Am Games record in the discus in 1963.
