Gerry Gregory (Volleyball, 1972): In his lone season at LBCC, Gregory was named all-conference and USVBA Junior College All-American in 1972. He finished his collegiate playing career at UC Santa Barbara (1973-75) but really made a name for himself as a member of the US National Team (1974-79). In 1977, Gregory was named the Best Defensive Player in the USA by Mikasa and earned USVBA Player of the Year honors in 1980. In 1984, he was inducted into the USVBA Hall of Fame. Gregory went on to serve as women’s volleyball head coach at Oregon State University, the University of Wyoming, the University of Oregon, and Azusa Pacific University.
