Dave Marshall (Baseball, 1962): Marshall needed just one season with the Vikings before he signed a professional baseball contract. As a freshman in 1962, Marshall was named Junior College All-American after leading the Metropolitan Conference in batting, RBI, runs, hits, doubles, and triples. He was an easy choice for team and conference MVP. He originally signed a pro contract with the then Los Angeles Angels, but broke into the majors with the San Francisco Giants in 1967. He went on to play 11 years in pro baseball, including seven in the majors with the Giants (1967-69), New York Mets (1970-72), San Diego Padres (1972), and Chicago White Sox (1973). Marshall was teammates with players such as Hall of Famers Willie Mays and Nolan Ryan.
