Long Beach will host Pasadena City College in both squads’ season opener on Sep. 3 while the Vikings will face Saddleback College in a rematch of last season’s Southern California Championship final the following week on Sep. 10.

Today marked the opening day of the mid-year junior college transfer signing period. Boesen will enroll in classes at TCU beginning this January.

But it was sophomore corner back Kiante Goudeau (Edison HS) on defense that came up with the big plays when the Vikings needed them most. Goudeau had a pair of returns for touchdowns in the third quarter as LBCC rallied to beat the Seahawks 32-27 in both teams' SCFA National Central League opener at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

Wide receiver Josiah Blandin scored his first touchdown of the season in Fresno State’s 34-13 win over Abilene Christian University while quarterback Kenny Potter had a big night in San Jose State’s 43-13 victory over New Hampshire University.
