Austin, the starting setter for the Anteaters, had 48 assists and 15 digs in the national championship final win over USC at the Galen Center.

Men’s Volleyball: Former Viking Chris Austin playing for NCAA ChampionshipMay 04, 2012Former Long Beach City College men’s volleyball standout Chris Austin will be playing in the NCAA National Championship final on Saturday for UC Irvine. The Anteaters will take on USC for the NCAA Division I national title on Saturday at 7 pm at the Galen Center in Los Angeles.

The Western State Conference win improved the Vikings to 9-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

LBCC won the match in convincing fashion by scores of 25-21, 25-23, and 25-17. Brett Anema (pictured) posted five kills, five blocks and five digs in the win.

Men’s Volleyball: Vikings host LBCC Invitational Sunday to open 2012 seasonJanuary 28, 2012It’s still only January, but spring sports at Long Beach City College slowly begin to get underway this weekend. On Sunday (Jan 31), the Vikings’ men’s volleyball team hosts the LBCC Invitational tournament to kick off the 2012 season. Co-head coaches Matt Silva and Jonathan Charette (pictured) begin their first season leading the program.
