2012 LBCC Men's Cross Country News

Under cold and rainy conditions, Long Beach City College sophomore Michael Delgado (pictured, center) ran 21:23.85 to finish in 51st place overall at the 2012 CCCAA Cross Country State Championships at Fresno's Woodward Park.

Sophomore Michael Delgado (pictured, right) finished in 75th place to lead the Long Beach City College men’s cross country team at the 2012 Southern California Regional Championships on Saturday at Fairview Park in Costa Mesa.

Sophomore Michael Delgado (pictured) ran 20:23.41 to finish in ninth place and lead the Long Beach City College men’s cross country team at the 2012 South Coast Conference Championships on Thursday at Griffith Park in Los Angeles.

Led by top-five finishes by sophomores Michael Delgado (pictured, left) and Pedro Cruz (pictured, right), the Long Beach City College men’s cross country team finished in second place out of five teams at the San Diego Invitational at Mission Bay Park.

Long Beach City College earned a very respectable ninth place finish out of 20 teams at the NorCal Preview Meet at the Crystal Springs Invitational in Belmont on Friday. Sophomores Michael Delgado and Pedro Cruz (pictured) once again led the Vikings.

Top performances from sophomores Michael Delgado (left) and Pedro Cruz (right) allowed the LBCC men’s cross country team to take sixth place with a total of 138 points at the Palomar Invitational held at Guajome Park in Oceanside on Friday.

New head coach John Goldman and the Long Beach City College men’s cross country made a successful debut by opening the season with a third-place finish at the UC San Diego Season Opener meet. Sophomore Pedro Cruz (pictured) finished in 17th place.
