Jerry Mitchell, who was named the state’s most valuable basketball player in 1954. He finished his two years as LBCC’s all-time leading hoops scorer and was named all-state in baseball. Mitchell would transfer to Gonzaga University, where he was the MVP for the ‘Zags basketball squad in 1955.
