Ricardo Azevedo, who participated in water polo in 1975 and 1977 and was named as the Most Valuable Player for his team, conference and Southern California. A JC All-American, he transferred to Long Beach State. An Olympian in 1976 and 1980, Azevedo went on to coaching success at Long Beach Wilson High School (2000 U.S. Coach of the Year) and as an assistant to four U.S. Olympic teams. He also served as head coach of Long Beach State's men's and women's water polo teams.
