Dennis Dummit, a two-year starter at quarterback (1967-68) who was the Vikings’ team captain and MVP as a sophomore. A first-team All-American and Metropolitan Conference Player of the Year, Dummit transferred to UCLA, where he started for two seasons and set 14 Bruin records. He was also selected to play in the East-West Shrine Game and Hula Bowl, and was named a National Football Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete. He played professionally in Canada and with the World Football League.
