Dr. Charles A. (Chuck) Kane, an instructor, coach, counselor and administrator from 1964-78. As head basketball coach, his record was 93-26 with two conference championships. His 1966-67 Vikings still hold the college record for points per game with just under 96. As a dean and vice president from 1968-78, he presided over LBCC athletics. Dr. Kane would eventually serve
as Superintendent/President at Riverside Community College and as Chancellor of the Seattle Community Colleges. In 1995 he was enshrined in the California Community College Basketball Coaches and Commission on Athletics halls of fame. Dr. Kane passed away on February 9.
