Athletics: Long Beach Century Club to honor four Vikings at annual Sports Night Banquet

Four Long Beach City College student-athletes will be honored on Monday, February 1 at the 60th annual Long Beach Century Club Sports Night Banquet at The Grand. Mike Wilson, Chantel Dunson, Evan May, and Joanna Perone are just four among the dozens of individuals that will be recognized at the City of Long Beach's premiere sports event.

Women’s Soccer: Vikings earn five all-conference honors, LBCC shut out of postseason

Five members of the Long Beach City College women's soccer team earned All-South Coast Conference honors, including two first-team selections. Heading the list are sophomore goalkeeper Evelyn Fierros (left) and sophomore defender Niki Voulgaris (right).

LBCC honored its 12 sophomores playing in their final regular-season home game on Tuesday.
Women’s Soccer: Long Beach keeps playoff hopes alive with 4-0 win over Pasadena

Freshman Savannah Christensen scored a pair of goals while sophomore Joanna Perone had two assists to help lead the Long Beach College women’s soccer team to a 4-0 South Coast Conference win over visiting Pasadena City College on Tuesday.

Women’s Soccer: Long Beach bounces back from loss with 2-0 win at LA Harbor

The Long Beach City College women’s soccer team posted its sixth shutout of the season with a 2-0 South Coast Conference win at Los Angeles Harbor College on Tuesday. LBCC was coming off a tough 5-2 loss at El Camino College on Friday, but the Vikings were able to bounce back to improve to 8-5-4 overall and 5-3-3 in conference play.

Women's Soccer: LBCC allows three late goals, drops 5-2 SCC game at El Camino

A tough stretch for the Long Beach City College women's soccer team continued as the Vikings suffered a 5-2 South Coast Conference loss at El Camino College on Friday. Long Beach is 1-2-3 over its last six games and currently holds a one-point advantage in third place in the conference standings with 15 points and a 4-3-3 record.

Freshman Savannah Christensen (Lakewood HS) scored two goals and added two assists to help lead the Long Beach City College women's soccer team to a 5-0 South Coast Conference win at El Camino College Compton Center.

Women's Soccer: Long Beach shuts out No. 2 nationally-ranked Cerritos in scoreless draw

It won't officially count as a win in the standings, but the Long Beach City College women's soccer team earned a moral victory by playing No. 2 nationally-ranked Cerritos College to a scoreless draw on Friday at LBCC. With the tie, Long Beach's record moved to 6-4-4 overall and 3-2-3 in South Coast Conference play.

Women’s Soccer: Vikings’ five-game unbeaten streak snapped with 2-0 loss to East Los Angeles

The Long Beach City College women’s soccer team saw its five-game unbeaten streak come to an end following a 2-0 South Coast Conference loss to visiting East Los Angeles College on Tuesday. The setback dropped the Vikings' record to 6-4-3 overall and 3-2-2 in the SCC.

Women’s Soccer: Vikings can’t hold late lead, earn 3-3 draw at Pasadena

Long Beach City College earned its second straight draw, playing Pasadena City College to a 3-3 tie on Friday at PCC. Long Beach held a 3-1 lead midway through the second half but couldn’t come away with the win.

Women’s Soccer: First-half lead holds up in 2-0 win at San Diego City

The Long Beach City College women’s soccer team bounced back from a tough 4-0 loss on Saturday to post a shutout of its own, a 2-0 win at San Diego City College on Tuesday. The victory improved the Vikings to 2-1 overall this season.
